The Nail Edition is a nail salon in Fond du Lac, founded by Kelly Wondra, a Wisconsin-licensed nail tech and the first Gel-X provider in Fond du Lac. Healthy natural nails come first here, and every set is made for the guest wearing it.

Kelly Wondra
Founder and Lead Nail Tech · Gel-X, nail art, natural nail care
Kelly's love of nails started with her own. As a busy mom, her standing nail appointment was the one thing she did for herself, no matter how crazy life got. A fresh set made her feel polished and put together, and she wanted guests to feel the same. She took her state exam, earned her license and started doing nails at Beauty Republic in 2023.
When Kelly started offering Gel-X, almost nobody in town had heard of it. She became the first Gel-X provider in Fond du Lac and spent a lot of time explaining how it works. “I like to educate people, too,” says Kelly. That habit shaped the salon: guests leave understanding how their set works.
She studied art in college, and she brings that artist’s eye to every hand-painted set: checkerboard and cherries, Snoopy, Barbie, the Packers, little flowers on toes, matching sets for a girls trip. See ideas in the nail art gallery.

Some guests bring their work and answer emails. Others relax and close their eyes, and some like to chat. All are welcome.
The name
Where the name comes from
The Nail Edition grew out of friendship and what two best friends do together. It’s also why every set is called a limited edition. No two are the same.
The Nail Edition is located inside the Beauty Republic Salon in downtown Fond du Lac. Beauty Republic’s owner is Kelly’s best friend, and the two salons collaborate and work together on everything.
I am a big believer in the fact that the health of your natural nail should always come first.

Our approach
Why natural nail health comes first
Every appointment starts with a close look at your own nails before anything goes on them. A set can only be as good as the nail under it. That’s why the salon doesn’t offer acrylic, hard gel or dip.
Clean matters just as much. We never cut live tissue, and every manicure ends with a hand wash. Guests should be able to relax in the chair without wondering about the tools.
